The Bay of Islands Maritime Park Inc
The BOIMPÂ Park Inc is an umbrella organisation bringing together approx 35 stakeholder groups that have an interest in improving the environmental health of the Bay of Islands.
Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Working Group
A group examining both traditional and “no take” methods of MPA’s with the aim of implementing both in the Bay.
Baycare
A multi-stakeholder group involved in catchment management, riparian protection and reducing sedimentation. Waitangi River Catchment is initial major project.
OS 20/20 BOI Project
Government funded, run by LINZ & NIWA.

Seagrass Restoration Project
In conjunction with NRC & NIWA a project to ascertain reasons for the decline then methods of restoring the seagrass beds.
